Our Story

A sister-owned and operated business, Cook & Co. has been serving up sweets in downtown Ionia, Michigan since August of 2019. As sixth generation Ionians, the Cook girls grew up hearing the stories of the robust, thriving downtown that their parents and grandparents once knew.

Regrettably, the girls were all born in a time after the heyday of small downtown America,at a time when mom-and-pop shops were being outshone by big box stores. Although never knowing a bustling downtown firsthand, since childhood, it has been the girls’ dream to be a part of downtown Ionia’s revitalization.

Today, the Cook sisters have each fallen into their preferred roles at the shop and love working and living downtown. Ally and Margot are happy to be part of downtown’s renaissance and remain hopeful that Ionia is on its way to the exuberance of yesteryear.
